Winter of Storm and Shadow: Interlude #7
Everybody Moves Merchants in Aberglain long remembered the day. For over two years the half orcs of the Camp of the Clear Sky had come to town and purchased their goods. Some of the goods were for mere survival but others were sturdy goods destined for a far away place. As the camp grew stronger, they came to town more and morefor those goods that they would need to rebuild their camp in that far away place of Melgorn. The supplies would also be used rebuild the wrecked landscape awaiting them there. Still closer to the time of travel, the half orcs had made it a point to say so long or farewell or re-assure their friends that they would not be going far. Half of the Elders had left a few weeks earlier to prepare the new campsite. The rest remained behind to ensure everything went well on the journey. Seemingly overnight the semi-permanent camp ceased to exist. In its place stood several hundred half orc men, women, and children. Of course in their minds they were not simply half orcs, they were Gyri and like many Gyri after the Giant War, they were at last going home. On silent signal from Arglwyth Arth the column moved off to the west. Over the next several hours the long line of half orcs snaked their way along the road. Eventually only the last few stragglers remained, moving their belongings and chatting happily as they went. An onlooker noticed an old half orc trudging alongside his family, barely holding his heavy knapsack in his withered hands. The onlooker stepped forward. "Hey there old one, have one of the younger ones take your burden," he said. The old half orc shook his head vigorously. "Nah! In Clear Sky, evrabody moves!" He winked at the onlooker and with pride picked up his pace, forcing the younger half orcs to try and keep up. Clear Sky had moved.
